New Menu!

I have finally updated my menu & website to make it easy for everyone (or at least I hope so!) As always, any questions, please ask!

You will find new additions such as my pumpkin cookies & the new addition of my cheesecake cakes (cheesecake is in between layers of cake). I have retired some flavors: orange, cinnamon & chocolate chunk. I am now offering (starting Feb 14th) chocolate ganache!!! (chocolate whipped together with cream....what could be better???) It is going to be slowly added to my specialty cakes but this sort of cake does need refrigeration. I am also working on my very own pastry cream which I hope to add very soon!

Arriving this spring I am happy to announce that Cake Truffles will be on the menu!! Similar to a cake pop but you never have to worry about anything falling off of a stick....it just falls into your mouth! I will post again when these are available.

Hello everyone! Finally updated & revised the website with new additions for all of your sugar cravings!

"I don't need it Bundt I want it" is my new feature of cakes made bundt style form which serve 12-16 generous servings. Cakes included (which are new) are: Chocolate Pound Cake, Vanilla Pound Cake, Pumpkin Spice, & Gingerbread Cake. All are served with a glaze on top & available all year long!

Currently working on a Maple Sugar Cookie that I hope to have by December as well as a Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake. My Chocolate Cake has been improved now with more cocoa & buttermilk that will please any chocolate lover! I have also made improvements to my Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar. I have added Pumpkin as a flavor to my cheesecake selection and this is also available all year (why limit yourself to just the holidays?). I have added the "Elvis" cake to my collection of favorite cakes (banana cake with peanut butter truffle filling).

All wedding orders will resume January 1, 2012 (was off for pregnancy). I will be at the Camden Falls Bridal Expo on January 8, 2012 in Tiffin, Ohio...please stop by if you are bride to be! Would love to meet you!

I still continue to offer fondant cakes but my preference is buttercream. I buy my fondant from a bakery retailer so it does taste better than what you may find at your local craft store. A lot of people are steered away due to taste but I apply a thin layer over an existing buttercream. I unfortunately cannot do fondant on cakes larger than 10 inches in diameter due to the size of my kitchen since I roll out the dough myself (do not have one of those fancy sheeters that you might see on cake shows!).

As always, if you do not see a desert listed please inquire...my oven door is always open to suggestions. I have been asked more recently about cake pops...these are the trend this year...like cupcakes were last year (and still are). I am tossing it back & forth in my mind at the moment & will keep you updated.

The Oven Door is OPEN!

Happy November 1st! The Bun is back & thank you for your patience during this exciting time in our lives...we welcomed Anderson Michael Huber into our family on Sept 29th. Both of his big brothers love him to pieces and it now makes living in a house full of boys that much more interesting!

I am taking orders once again except for weddings...that will resume January 1, 2012. I am slowly revising my menu & hope to have the new additions/revisions done within the next week.

The first change is my chocolate cake...it has been remade now with more cocoa & buttermilk to give a richer, deeper chocolate flavor that I know chocolate lovers will dive into! I will post again with my other menu changes soon!

Growing by 2 feet!

LAST DAY for orders will be Sept 24th due to the birth of my 3rd child. It is going to be extremely difficult to keep the oven door closed for October but I appreciate your understanding (I work alone). All orders will RESUME November 1st just in time for holiday cravings! All wedding orders will resume January 1st.

My fall menu is very limited this season due to my pregnancy (and fall is by far my favorite time of the year & I want to introduce new flavors/menu items but I can't make any promises....my apologies.) I will have my Pumpkin Spice Cake available as a returning flavor that will be available throughout the holiday season & into January (is there ever really a cut off date to not have pumpkin...we should be indulging in it all year!)

End of August already???

All regular orders to end Sept 24th due the baby coming October 5th. I will resume orders November 1st & I thank you for your understanding!!! I am going to miss meeting everyone & satisfying sweet tooths but I want to smother my newest baby with love rather than powdered sugar...and i do work alone so this is already hard for me to decline orders since I take every crumb creation that is asked!

I completed yet another wedding cake this past weekend which surprised me since I of course wanted to be finished in July but as I said before, it is hard for me to say no! Loved this cake...all black & white which makes a statement by itself! Very classical & elegant & I wish the bride & groom the best! As always please remember for all of my wedding couples (past & future) that you will receive a FREE 6 inch cake of your choice on your wedding anniversary...you just need to call me! I don't believe in freezing cake & you can also have all cake cut at your reception. Although orders will be closed in October, I am still able to meet for all cake consults thoughout the rest of the year for weddings in 2012. Can't wait for next year's wedding season(s) already!!!

I find it hard to believe that in one week I send my oldest off to 1st grade...where did kindergarten go? His younger brother is asking to go to school as well but he's only 2 1/2....he'll keep me company as he learns his new role of being a big brother to the new baby to be.

I hope the end of summer is wonderful for everyone but I am looking forward to cooler temperatures, fall colors & a sweet ending to each & every day......

The BUN turns 2!!!!

I have officially entered into my last trimester of this wonderful yet surprising pregnancy! Time is zipping and soon the Bun will be celebrating 2 years on July 28th! My gratitude & appreciation for ALL of the orders that have given me a sweet success to starting out. At times, I do miss being an RN but running after my two boys in between opening & closing my oven has been a blessing. Thank YOU for all of your understanding with this pregnancy as I continue to create sugar confections until my own little sweet bundle arrives!

My last wedding was this past weekend...I am surely going to miss working with brides & grooms for the rest of the year. Orders for wedding cakes will resume January 1, 2012 but I will continue to offer my FREE cake tasting for wedding consults throughout this year. All other orders will continue until my baby's arrival so please don't hesitate to call! And again thank you for your understanding of not being able to replicate copyrighted characters for your cakes.

I am slowly still plugging away at new flavors to introduce as well as adding to the "cookie jar" with new cookies planned. Please be patient with me....

Enjoy the few weeks of summer left before the craziness of "back to school" begins (which I think it already has!) Enjoy those last few bites of crumbs on the plate left behind by a big ol' slice of cake...there really doesn't need to be a reason to have dessert!!!!

Summer's Sweet Arrival!

Summer officially feels like it is here already with this hot weather & I have been in the kitchen more than on the computer this month...but please note that I do check my messages & facebook daily although my web posts are limited.

I attended the Mon Ami Winery Bridal Fair 2 weeks ago & loved it! Always exciting to meet new brides-to-be! As a kind reminder no more wedding cakes after July until I resume wedding orders in January 2012 due to my baby-to-be. Wedding cakes are very large orders that physically I won't be able to do in my last trimester (and the sheer weight of just lifting them!) Also, since I work alone, out of fairness to the bride & groom, I would not want to unexpectedly not have a cake for you for my health reasons. I appreciate your understanding with this and I do plan to fill all other cake orders/cookie orders until my delivery date which is Oct 5th. Orders will be extremely limited in October but will resume in full swing in November for the Holiday craziness! Any questions, please ask!

I have withdrawn my few dates for the farmer's market this year also due to my pregnancy but I plan to be back in downtown Fremont next year with sweets to share!

Still taking orders for graduation cakes/cupcakes for this year's grads! Congratulations to all the grads of 2011...may the next year be a sweet one for all of you to embrace!

I am going to be at the Hatbox Auction this Thurs June 2nd for the Sandusky Chamber of Commerce which I am excited to do!
And I am donating a cake to the silent auction for Parker's Purpose at Ole Zim's on June 17th!

350 Degrees!

Spring has arrived & so has the warmer temperatures...but it is always 350 degrees in here! Busy in the kitchen & have hardly posted anything so please accept my apologies!

Reminder when placing orders: cannot replicate any characters on cakes due to copyright laws (ie. Disney, etc)...but I will work with you to create a custom cake for you! Also cannot & do not use the Wilton shaped pans...they are for home use only, not for use to be made & sold (all of my sculpted cakes are hand sculpted). And due to my recent pregnancy I will not be taking orders for wedding cakes from July 2011 until December 2011...will resume wedding orders January 2012 (it is unfair to the bride & groom to have their cake lady be in her last trimester!) ALL other orders will be taken up until my due date indeed!!! Life is sweet....and I would love to help you celebrate your special birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc!!!!

I am now taking orders for GRADUATION 2011....cupcakes are an awesome way to celebrate without inviting knives & forks!!!

I will be attending Mon Ami's Bridal Fair on May 22nd at Mon Ami Winery! Can't wait! Taking orders for weddings in 2012!

The Farmer's Markets begin June 18th already in downtown Fremont. My attendance this year will be limited due to being in my last trimester of pregancy but I will be there in June & July!

   *Will be donating a cake for the Parker's Purpose Silent Auction/Fundraiser on June 17th
   *June 2nd is the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce Hatbox Auction & I will be in attendance

....and this one takes the cake!! I am expecting my 3rd child...due Oct 5th! We are all very excited & Aiden & Brady are going to make awesome big brothers. This also puts a little pinch on the plans I had for the Bun. Unfortunately, I will not be taking orders for weddings from June until the end of the year (it is not fair to the bride/groom to have a pregant lady in her last trimester doing your cake!) I have loved all of the couples that I have met with thus far & I am already looking into Bridal Fairs/Expos to attend in Jan & Feb of 2012. All wedding cake orders will resume January 1, 2012. All other orders (specialty cakes, cookies, etc) can be ordered as usual....I plan to work up until my due date or when the little one decides to make his/her grand entrance. It is already the middle of December & I have neglected to write anything!!! My apologies!!! Once the holidays are over & it's the beginning of the new year, I am planning on re-doing parts of my website as well as my menu. Right now I am getting the house & the boys ready for Santa, filling orders for those with a sweet tooth & I want to wish everyone a joyous holiday season!!!!!!!!
